Step 1: Find a DOT Physical Provider
The first step is locating a certified medical examiner who performs DOT physicals. Here are a couple of tools to help you find a provider near you:

Once you’ve identified a provider, give them a call to confirm the following:
- They offer DOT physicals.
- Their pricing—the exam typically costs between $80 and $145.
Step 3: Indicate Your CDL/CLP Status
When scheduling your appointment or filling out any forms, make sure to indicate that you’re a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) or CLP (Commercial Learner’s Permit) applicant. This ensures the exam meets federal requirements.
